About Us
The LHSSN is a predominantly a school’s network linking together schools of all ages & abilities across the area with community groups, local providers & national bodies to provide as many high quality experiences as possible for children & staff alike.
We have the LHSSN Membership system which provides larger scale & wider coordinated activities for our partner schools. Teacher training, events, & school support both with groups of schools & within schools, for example team-teaching, curriculum advice or pupil’s sports leaders training. The membership also allows us to maintain people & groups in the area & to seize further opportunities & funding for our schools & community.
Some of our most significant examples could be;
Our annual Primary PE Conference which sees all of our schools come together to hear from local & national providers & guest speaker;
Our LHSSN Olympics- 1 day, 1 venue, 14 sports, 2750 pupils all being active & enjoying various levels of competition and activity.
Our work with Lancaster & Morecambe College, & The University of Cumbria, in particular, to provide training & experiences for the next workforce generation.
Forging links with Morecambe FC, Wigan Warriors, & the FA to bring coaches, training, & events into our area or the schools themselves.
Beyond the LHSSN we have other programmes such as our SSCO offer, Barclays Girls Football, School Games & we can offer bespoke support for indivdual schools including breakfast, lunch & after school clubs, or INSET training. As well as working with local communities to improve lifestyles with Outdoor activities & health & wellbeing interventions.
