SSN Lancashire 5/6 Boys/Mixed Football Competition- 30^th September

Dear PE Co-ordinator

We would like to invite your school to enter the Lancaster & Heysham Year 5/6 Boys/Mixed County Qualifying Football Tournament. This event is scheduled at LM College’s 3G astro pitch, on Tuesday 30^th September. The first games will kick off 10.35 and will finish approx. 2.30/45 dependant on entries. Please arrive from 10.00 so we can brief everyone and start on time. Please bring appropriate clothing/umbrellas for between games if there is any bad weather.

This tournament will act as a feeder for a Lancashire County Finals, meaning the top Heysham area school and top Lancaster area school compete at the Lancashire County Finals, scheduled for 16^th January 2026 at Fleetwood Town’s impressive training complex, Poolefoot Farm. Schools can only qualify from the ‘small’ OR ‘large’ schools events- not both.

Competition details are as follows:

No spectators during College open times
Teams of 7, squads of upto 10 (Year 5/6 boys &/or girls, no minimum ratios).
Date: Tuesday 30^th September
Venue: LM College 3G Astro pitch
Parking/drop off/collection at LMC is always at the rear of College from Torrisholme Road.
Arrival from 10.00 with first match kicking off around 10.35
Finish time will depend on the number of entries but will be 2.30-45. Exact timings and format will be sent out to the competing schools straight after the deadline date
1 Team permitted per school, you may request a second, but they’ll only be allowed if there is space & will be first come-first served. When enrolling add your second team then I will confirm if you have it on deadline entry day. Please book on twice for 2 teams.
Top Heysham area school and top Lancaster area school compete at the Lancashire Finals.
Schools should bring their own 1^st Aid kits
PLEASE MAKE SURE PARTICIPANTS WEAR SHIN PADS & RUBBER STUDS/ASTRO TRAINERS. This is the teacher’s responsibility to check. No metal or plastic studs.

Please also note that from this season we will follow the FAs new guidance on heading and kick-ins rather than throw ins. Your pupils will be playing this at club level for the last season so they will probably be absolutely familiar with the changes. More info:
