Lancaster & Heysham SSN
Having run this training several times locally (to great feedback) we will run it again in the South Lakes but is, of course, open to all local schools too. Multiple staff welcome.
Please also see our Royal Ballet Training on 22/10/26 @ Arkholme (for PE & English leads, or any KS1-3 teacher)
Active Schools Support Staff Training:
We will cover the importance of activity for young people and some simple strategies to help other staff in school support their PE leads and whole-school approaches to getting pupils active. These will include ideas for lunchtimes, classrooms and clubs… and most importantly the playground! All schools should be working towards the Chief Medical Officer’s Active 60 Minutes plan. It is a key question in your School Games Mark applications and any future Healthy Schools Ratings & fits with the new Enrichment Framework. We will give lots of ideas and example resources.
It is mainly aimed at support staff (lunch/TA’s etc) but PE teachers, or other staff, may attend if they wish. We hope 9.15 for 9.25 start-11.45 fits roughly between duties, so hopefully you can send 1-4 members of staff along. Please book on! Delivered by Tim Fletcher & Steven Jamieson.
It is a fun active course so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing and bring a drink. You may simply watch practical activities if required. There is ample parking on the road around the school, please arrive after 9.05 to avoid parent drop offs. on arrival please go the main reception.
We’ve done this for a few years and those involved have always valued the course and feedback is always brilliant!
