DESCRIPTION:(NOW FULL PLEASE EMAIL TO BE ADDED TO THE WAITING LIST – Booking page for afternoon slot) \nWe will be furthering our partnership with The Royal Ballet by getting them up to Lancaster to deliver a shared dance routine and skills to around 300 young people per session.  Exact details to follow.  4 Professional Dancers will work with groups of pupils from year 4-7 on a rotation. \n4/5/6 Royal Ballet Create & Dance FESTIVAL! \nThis event is scheduled at LANCASTER UNIVERSITY (not University of Cumbria)\, \n on 20th March 2026  \nPick 1 of 2 sessions (not both); \n9.30 until 11.30  \nOR \n12.00-2.00 \nWe have a capacity of 300 per event. \n  \nAs part of our LHSSN partnership work we are very lucky to be able to offer our local schools an opportunity to learn from one of the world’s most renowned organisations… Royal Ballet & Opera!  Following on from some of the Create Dance CPD we have also run (you do not have to have attended the CPD to come along!). \n  \nTeams: You may bring a maximum of 1 full class of 36 max. You may bring any number below that.  We’d love to get as many ‘schools’ there as possible. Please just ensure you let us know when booking approximately how many you’re intending on bringing.  Please note; There will obviously be loud music and lots of people. \n  \nAim: This is a fun based event and we will be asking pupils to display School Games values of Determination and Passion.  Your groups learn different dance moves and routines with dancers from the Royal Ballet & Opera.  There is no overall winner. \n  \nRequirements: Please wear clothing and shoes suitable for activity and dance\, and bring a drink. \n  \nWhere: Lancaster University Sports Centre\, Bailrigg. \n  \nParking: Coaches can drop off at the side of the sports centre and park on the hashed areas on that side road- please let us know how you plan to travel up prior.  See the map below.  There is also additional overflow car parking at the side of the sports centre- 2 hours of parking is free\, if you arrive too early you may require £3 for the machine- we hope this is not the case. \n  \nEvent details are as follows: \n\nNo spectators- though if you’re using parents to help transport the children they are welcome to come in and watch but\, again\, please let us know which parents are with your school on the day.\nTeams of 4-36 (teams may be mixed but there are not set criteria/ratios).\nDate: 20th March Pick 1 of the 2 sessions: AM 9.30-11.30 OR PM 12.00-2.00\nVenue: Lancaster University Sports Centre\nPlease don’t arrive more than 10 minutes before the start.\nPlease specify your numbers expected; 1st come first served.\nPlease can schools bring their own 1st Aid kits\nPlease also tag us at @LHschoolsport https://www.facebook.com/LHschoolsport\n\n  \n\nIt will fill up fast- The deadline entry date for this is 2nd March Enter via the website – or email should you have any issues.\n\n  \nThe Venue: \n           The activity is taking place in the new sportshall at Lancaster University’s Sports Centre. \n–         Lancaster University Sports Complex and Swimming Pool; Bailrigg\, Lancaster\, LA2 0PH \n–          On arrival\, don’t park in the front car park\, please drive down the right hand side of the building\, at the top of the hill there is a hatched area for a drop off point. \n–          There is additional coach parking\, after drop off\, if they go back onto the main road\, turn left (towards M6) & left again and use the car park half way up the hill on the left. \n–          Parking is available in the Car Park behind the Centre and/or in the lay by at the side. \n–          Entrance to the Centre can be made via the glass doors at the bottom of the steps (where the drop off point is and not via the front doors of the Sports Centre) \n–          There are water fountains\, vending machines and a vending coffee machine at the Centre. \n–           Although there are first aiders on site\, schools should bring their own first aid kits and school staff should be the first port of call. \n–          Please wear clean\, non-marking\, footwear.

DESCRIPTION:Now closed- we look forward to seeing everyone there! \n  \nSSN Schools Only   \nInvite here: GLOW 5\,6\,7 Dodgeball 11 DEC Lanc & Heysham \n  \nDear PE Co-ordinator\, \nWe would like to invite your school to enter the Lancaster & Heysham SSN \n5/6/7 GLOW DODGEBALL FESTIVAL! \nThis event is scheduled at LANCASTER UNIVERSITY (not University of Cumbria)\, \n on 11th December 2023 9.45-11.30 \nThe event is back and big… in the double sportshall… in the dark! \n  \nTeams: 8 on court\, Squads of 8- 10\, Years 5/6/7. Smaller schools may bring year 4s if required. \nPrimary- no minimum ratio of boy/girls\, secondary may be boys\, girls or mixed from year 7 only. \nSchools may bring 1 team and request others (by booking on twice) but last time it was full very quickly so is probably unlikely. We have a max number of 32 teams. \n  \nThis is a fun based event and we will be asking pupils to display honesty.  Those not playing a game will officiate their own games.  It is not about winning and losing- we simply want a group of pupils to come along and have fun being active\, work as a team and be with their friends and be at a bigger event again.  Because of the darkened setting\, it has been shown to be particular good for pupils who may be more self-conscious than others. \n  \nGlow dodgeball takes place in a darkened room with ultraviolet lights that cause balls and players equipment to glow!  It’s something a little different- hopefully you can pick a ‘different’ group of pupils.  Secondary schools- we’d encourage you to consider choosing pupils who have possibly struggled with transition but would benefit from a fun session with peers. \n  \nThere will not be an overall winner.  Instead we will reward schools on ‘The Spirit of the Games’ values which are Determination\, Honesty\, Teamwork\, Passion\, and Self Belief.  Hopefully it’s an opportunity for you to pick a targeted group of pupils of your choice.  On your feedback forms you suggested transition was a potential issue we hope this will help… Last year we had several Year 7 Heads of Year attend with their teams and found that very useful in building relationships; and lastly\, pupil health and wellbeing has been mentioned\, this is a chance to have fun\, be active and work as a team! Pupils not playing will also have a chance to officiate.  Please dress up in your best fluorescent clothing!! All those children of the 1990s- dig out your old glow sticks and wrist bands! Fluorescent clothing and white work best. DESCRIPTION:SSN primary schools and local Secondary schools are invited along to LM College for a series of teambuilding and problem solving challenges.  We hope that schools can select a group of pupils who could use some support in developing their transition\, confidence and communication skills. \nPrimary and secondary schools will be there together to also help that familiarity and transition for both those pupils who have now left their primary school or for those soon to move up. \nPlease note this event has moved from 8th October to Wednesday the 9th October.  Can schools please ensure they rebook\, your entry will not carry over! \nMax of 60 attendees on the day- don’t delay! \n
