DESCRIPTION:Booking for SSN Mental Wellbeing Leaders: Friday 21st March 11.45-2:45 \n  \nWe will be hosting a mental health & wellbeing session for your yr 5/6 pupils with support from the sports students from the University of Cumbria\, Sports Complex. It is an opportunity for pupils to work on growth mind-set\, communication\, teamwork\, defining mental health & wellbeing and developing those all-important life skills. Hopefully\, they can also then support your school’s sport and activity offer. \nThey will move around a series of stations with other schools and have a go at each area. Please ensure you let us know how many pupils\, approximately\, you plan on bringing so we can allocate groups\, between 2-6 pupils from year 5/6 (1 team per school). These may be a different group to your sports leaders. Tuesday 29th April (Reserve date; Monday 5th May). \n  \nDue to phenomenal demand in previous years Heysham and Lancaster will each have their own competition. \n  \nLancaster Schools Netball Qualifier: 9.30 for 9.45-12.45 Year 5/6 \nDefending Champions- Skerton St Luke’s (Please bring the trophy) \n  \nThis is a competitive tournament that will act as a feeder for the Lancashire School Games County Finals\, and as such are now funded by LHSSN so open to SSN members only.  The top placed Lancaster School will represent Lancaster at the County finals on 8th July at UCLAN\, Preston. \n  \nCompetition details are as follows: \n\nTime- 9.30-12.45: Hopefully allow parents to drop off children (using the rear entrance only please!) and help with transport costs. Do not arrive before 9.15 as college students and buses will be arriving.\nIf you are late you may forfeit your first match 2-0.\nDate- Tuesday 29th April\n7-9 players within a squad\, consisting of a maximum of 3 boys\, with maximum of 2 boys on the court at any one time. Though teams don’t have to contain any boys.\n1 team per school. Though you may request a 2nd and if there’s space after the deadline we’ll let you know. Please book on twice on the website to request 2 teams.\nSchools are requested to bring their own High 5 bibs where possible to save time.\nVenue- Lancaster and Morecambe College Netball Courts (Outdoor). At Over Wyresdale Parish Hall\, Abbeystead\, 09:30-14:30 \nThis course aims to show Teachers and support staff how lessons can be taken outside\, made more active and to make the most of your outside space. With games\, curriculum links and Outdoor Education activities\, as well as lots of practical examples and ideas. \nThe course will be a mixture of theory and practice so please dress appropriately. Please bring walking boots and or wellies as some of the practical will be outside! \nSchools can send 2 members of staff each and there is also an option to hold a version of the course at your school for our inset fee. \nTeas and coffees will be provided. DESCRIPTION:NOW FULL- THANKS ALL! \n  \nDear Colleague\, \nWe would like to invite your school to a Lancaster & Heysham SSN Benchball Festival \n  \nI would like to invite your school to enter the LHSSN Year 2/3/4 Mixed Benchball Festival at Lancaster and Morecambe College on: \nThursday 8th May- Mixed (no ratio requirements) \n  \n Limited to 12 schools. \nArrival for 15.30 start and approx. 17.30 finish. \nThere will be an introductory practice for familiarisation with the event prior to starting. \nThe event will be delivered by Barry for LHSSN. \n  \n\nTeams can be up to 10 children with 7 being on court at any one time.\nRotating substitutions will be permitted throughout the tournament.\nThe competition will be limited to 12 teams.\n8th May 1530-1730\, Deadline to enter Thursday 24th April.\nParking and drop off/collection for all Lancaster and Morecambe College events MUST be accessed from the rear of the college off Torrisholme Road- please inform any parents.\nAny minibuses that are staying MUST be booked in via Barry at least 1 week in advance.\nNo spectators allowed.\nThis is an LHSSN event- please can social media posts reflect that.\n\n**Could schools ensure that parents wait outside the sports centre until the relevant staff are on site. \n  \nPlease can you book via www.lhssn.co.uk as soon as possible. DESCRIPTION:Please enter or direct questions to Brandon as part of their course- info below… \nThese are always great events where the students pull out all the stops to put on a special event! \n  \nI am writing to invite your school to participate in an exciting Primary School Girls’ Football Festival\, themed around the upcoming Women’s Euro 2025 tournament alongside other schools based in and around Lancaster\, designed to celebrate and encourage girls’ participation in football\, alongside raising money for a charitable cause! \nThe festival will take place on: \nDate: 14/05/2025\nTime: 10am-12:30pm\nVenue: University of Cumbria- Bowerham Campus \n  \nPlease arrive via the Sports Complex Car Park- LA1 3JD (off Wyresdale Road) and sign in via the Marquee on the astroturf a maximum of 15 minutes before the event is due to begin.  Please do not use Bowerham Road entrance. \n  \nThe event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for your pupils to enjoy the beautiful game in a fun\, inclusive\, and supportive environment. The festival is open to girls in Years 4-5 (max of 10 per team\, please state if your school would like multiple teams)\, and we welcome players of all abilities\, whether they are seasoned footballers or completely new to the sport. \n  \nThe day will feature: \n\nAn opening ceremony parade of teams around the venue prior to the games.\nAn appearance from a member of the Derian House Charity.\nA series of friendly\, competitive or non-competitive 6-a-side matches.  You choose your level of competition.\nFun activities to promote confidence and football skills!\nA chance to meet other schools and share a love of football!\nEnd ceremony with a VIP guest\, celebrating a superstar from each team!\n\nTo ensure every child will have a fun and enjoyable experience we are offering you the chance to decide whether your school will enter the competitive or non-competitive side of the festival\, or both\, please state which aspect of this via the sign up form linked below. \n  \nParents are allowed to spectate but we ask that you communicate our guidelines of spectating from the outside of the astro turf. \n  \nAs we are committed to making this event a memorable experience for all involved\, we ask that teams make a sign-up donation of £25 per school which will collectively be donated to Derian House Children’s Hospice. \n  \nTo enhance the excitement of children and staff alike\, we are offering a 1-hour lunchtime/after school taster session in the run up to the festival.
