DESCRIPTION:NOW FULL\, APOLOGIES! \nDear Colleague \nI would like to invite your school to enter the LHSSN Year 3/4 Sportshall Athletics League at Lancaster and Morecambe College commencing on March 5th\, prompt arrival for 16.00 start and approx. 17.15 finish each week. Each school would be involved in 2 of the 4 sessions. \nExact fixtures will be sent out once we know which schools are entering. The event will be delivered by Barry for LHSSN.  School teams should consist of a minimum of 6 girls and 6 boys. \nThey may compete in a maximum of 1 track and 2 field events per night. \n  \nThe definitive format will be dependent upon the number of entries. However\, in order to maximise competition and reduce both transport needs and volunteer numbers\, an event based programme is possible with teams participating in 5 events per week (with the likelihood of the full event programme being held over 2 weeks). All events will be team based with relay races and combined field event scores. Each week will combine 2 running events\, 2 jumps and a throwing event. \n  \nThe fixture programme will run over 4 weeks with the first block of events held over weeks 1 and 2 and the second series weeks 3 and 4. DESCRIPTION:Booking for 12th March 9.30-12.30 \n  \nWe would like to invite your school to a \nYear 3/4 Disney Active Literacy & Multiskills & Girls Football Activity \nLancaster & Morecambe College \non 12th March \n  \nLHSSN deliver Barclays Girls Football Partnerships work to help Lancaster\, Morecambe\, Heysham & South Lakes schools access various aspects of teacher training and resources.  One key area is ‘Shooting Stars’ which is based around Disney storytelling that becomes a multiskills and active literacy type activity.  It includes booklets based on The Lion King\, Aladdin\, Frozen 2\, Incredibles and Toy Story 4; that anyone can pick up and follow with teachers\, support staff and even sports leaders! \nPupils will move around a series of stations- They will be delivered by College Students with taster sessions based on the resources & some fun girls football based drills! \nSchools must also be registered on this free FA website please! It’s full of resources and the possibility of getting your own staff trained in the Disney activities and download the resource booklets\, all free\, all part of our work. \n  \nSummary: \nTeams: Groups of 4-10\, girls only. \nA targeted group of pupils from year 3/4 \n12th March  9.30-12.30 \n  \n  \n\nPupils need PE kit\, trainers and a drink.  If you have any Disney costumes\, other related fancy dress\, or face paints we absolutely encourage you to use them!\nActivities will be multiskills based physical activity with a Disney Literacy Theme-Any local schools & South Lakes schools can now access resources and training because of work on this programme- more info on the Girl’s football and Disney schemes here: https://girlsfootballinschools.org/\nSchools should bring their own first aid kits.\nPlease arrive as close to your slot time as possible. DESCRIPTION:Free for SSN members as part of your membership. At The University of Cumbria Sports Complex\, 09:30-11:45am \nThis course aims to arm staff with the knowledge of making the curriculum more active and working towards your Active 60 minutes. The course will be mainly practical with a focus on curriculum links with Maths\, Literacy and Science\, as well as useful engagement tools for students with lower levels of engagement and concentration. \nIt will be a mixture of theory & practical- so please dress appropriately.  Nobody will be forced to join in the practical if you want/need to just observe that’s fine! \nSchools may send up to 2 members of staff & there is the option to hold a version of the course as an INSET for your school for our Inset fee. \nThere is a cafe nearby & coffee and vending machine for refreshments on site.  There is parking on the site or along Wyresdale Road. \n

DESCRIPTION:NOW FULL PLEASE email Steven to be added to a waiting list incase we can expand numbers/drop outs; &/ OR book the PM slot which still has space. \n  \n(Booking page for morning slot) \nWe will be furthering our partnership with The Royal Ballet by getting them up to Lancaster to deliver a shared dance routine and skills to around 300 young people per session.  Exact details to follow.  4 Professional Dancers will work with groups of pupils from year 4-7 on a rotation. \n4/5/6 Royal Ballet Create & Dance FESTIVAL! \nThis event is scheduled at LANCASTER UNIVERSITY (not University of Cumbria)\, \n on 20th March 2026  \nPick 1 of 2 sessions (not both); \n9.30 until 11.30  \nOR \n12.00-2.00 \nWe have a capacity of 300 per event. \n  \nAs part of our LHSSN partnership work we are very lucky to be able to offer our local schools an opportunity to learn from one of the world’s most renowned organisations… Royal Ballet & Opera!  Following on from some of the Create Dance CPD we have also run (you do not have to have attended the CPD to come along!). \n  \nTeams: You may bring a maximum of 1 full class of 36 max. You may bring any number below that.  We’d love to get as many ‘schools’ there as possible. Please just ensure you let us know when booking approximately how many you’re intending on bringing.  Please note; There will obviously be loud music and lots of people. \n  \nAim: This is a fun based event and we will be asking pupils to display School Games values of Determination and Passion.  Your groups learn different dance moves and routines with dancers from the Royal Ballet & Opera.  There is no overall winner. \n  \nRequirements: Please wear clothing and shoes suitable for activity and dance\, and bring a drink. \n  \nWhere: Lancaster University Sports Centre\, Bailrigg. \n  \nParking: Coaches can drop off at the side of the sports centre and park on the hashed areas on that side road- please let us know how you plan to travel up prior.  See the map below.  There is also additional overflow car parking at the side of the sports centre- 2 hours of parking is free\, if you arrive too early you may require £3 for the machine- we hope this is not the case. \n  \nEvent details are as follows: \n\nNo spectators- though if you’re using parents to help transport the children they are welcome to come in and watch but\, again\, please let us know which parents are with your school on the day.\nTeams of 4-36 (teams may be mixed but there are not set criteria/ratios).\nDate: 20th March Pick 1 of the 2 sessions: AM 9.30-11.30 OR PM 12.00-2.00\nVenue: Lancaster University Sports Centre\nPlease don’t arrive more than 10 minutes before the start.\nPlease specify your numbers expected; 1st come first served.\nPlease can schools bring their own 1st Aid kits\nPlease also tag us at @LHschoolsport https://www.facebook.com/LHschoolsport\n\n  \n\nIt will fill up fast- The deadline entry date for this is 2nd March Enter via the website – or email should you have any issues.\n\n  \nThe Venue: \n           The activity is taking place in the new sportshall at Lancaster University’s Sports Centre. \n–         Lancaster University Sports Complex and Swimming Pool; Bailrigg\, Lancaster\, LA2 0PH \n–          On arrival\, don’t park in the front car park\, please drive down the right hand side of the building\, at the top of the hill there is a hatched area for a drop off point. \n–          There is additional coach parking\, after drop off\, if they go back onto the main road\, turn left (towards M6) & left again and use the car park half way up the hill on the left. \n–          Parking is available in the Car Park behind the Centre and/or in the lay by at the side. \n–          Entrance to the Centre can be made via the glass doors at the bottom of the steps (where the drop off point is and not via the front doors of the Sports Centre) \n–          There are water fountains\, vending machines and a vending coffee machine at the Centre. \n–           Although there are first aiders on site\, schools should bring their own first aid kits and school staff should be the first port of call. \n–          Please wear clean\, non-marking\, footwear.
