Lancashire School Games Qualifier- Open to all of Lancaster & Heysham's Schools.
Details of the competition are as follows:
· Date: Friday 7th June
· 12.30 for 1.00pm start time, please arrive promptly
· Select players from year 3/4
· Teams are made up of 2 boys and 2 girls
· Formats will be sent out after the deadline entry date.
· If schools have a mini tennis net they’d be willing to bring along that’d be appreciated, please let us know.
Rules and Regulations
· Mini tennis scoring uses 1, 2, 3, 4 etc, matches will be played to a match tie break and will be the first to reach a score of 10. Maximum times per match will also be used, with the leading scorer at the whistle winning the match.
· The serve will be decided by a toss at the start of the match
· The nominated person serves for the first point and it then alternates every 2 points
· When serving players should stand behind the inner back tramline. When serving, the ball must not be bounced before server strikes it
· The serve must be underarm
· Players stay at the same end of the court throughout the whole match
· Official mini tennis sized, short handled racquets to be used. Schools may use their own and we will bring some if schools need to borrow any.
The deadline entry date for this competition is 1st June.
