NOW OPENED TO ANY LANCASTER, RURAL LANCASTER AND SSN SCHOOLS:
With the Rugby 6 Nations currently underway we thought schools may like the opportunity to bring groups of pupils who perhaps have a new found interest in Rugby to come along and ‘have a try’ at rugby. It’ll be skills based sessions and potentially some fun, friendly, tag rugby based games. As it’s fun based, no previous experience is necessary- however, if you have some really strong rugby pupils could they come along and be our/your assistant coaches, supporting other pupils?
As the invite is relatively late, you can bring any number of pupils up to 20, so please specify the number of pupils expected when booking. We have a limit of 60 pupils on the day, once it is full it will be closed.
We would like to bring an opportunity for your pupils to get out and represent their school at a sports event. It will be completely free of charge. This event will be scored on The School Games Values of Determination, Honesty, Respect, Teamwork, Passion, & Self-Belief. It does not need to be your best sportspeople and full briefing and coaching will be provided on the day so you simply need to pick a team.
The day will be roughly as follows:
Date- Friday 11th March, 1:15-3:00 (if you need to be back at school earlier please let us know when booking).
Venue- University of Cumbria Sports Complex off Wyresdale Road:
Mixed, no minimum numbers of boys/girls, year 4/5/6.
It is an artificial surface so trainers are best. It will be outside so please be prepared for slight showers. In the event of heavy rain, we will have to cancel, there is no indoor option. Some parking is available at the venue with ample additional parking on Wyresdale Road and opposite in the Williamson Park Car Park.
If you wish to enter please let me know how many teams you’d like to be involved no later than 5th March.
