We would like to invite your school to a Lancaster & Heysham SSN

Year 4/5/6 BASEBALL & Striking MultiSkills Festival

University of Cumbria Sports Complex- Astroturf & Sportshall,

Friday 6^th May

The events will run in 2 separate sessions dependant on entries.

 

Schools can pick one of the session times and should try to select a targeted group of pupils from years 4/5/6.  Again, looking at your feedback, practicing some alternative skills, fitness levels, engaging new pupils through different activity and Covid catch up are issues that we can hopefully help with here.  Try to target pupils who you feel would benefit most, perhaps they’re fairly able but would benefit from trying something new, or a group of pupils who would benefit from working together in a different environment? Hopefully it’ll free up time and space in school for those year groups involved in SATs around this time, or give any year 6 a chance for a brain break or reward! The University’s 1^st Year Sports Coaching and PE Students are going to prepare a series of challenges for your pupils to complete and enjoy- they will need to move around and work effectively as a team!

 

Summary:

Teams: Groups of 8 mixed (any ratio)

A targeted group of pupils from year 4/5/6

 

Choose one session

(Start/finish times can be adjusted slightly if it helps but please request when booking):

 

Session 1- Friday 6^th May 10.00-12.00 (event 10.15-11.45)

Session 2- Friday 6^th May 1.00-3.00 (event 1.15-2.45)

 

• Pupils need PE kit, trainers and a drink. 
• Activities will be baseball, striking & multiskills based physical activity/
• Schools should bring their own first aid kits.
• If you’re coming in a minibus, please advise us prior.
• No Spectators.
• Please arrive as close to your slot time as possible. Any problems please let us know.
• Maximum of 2 groups per school.
• We have a limit of 60 per session and it’ll be first come first served- once it’s full we will close bookings.
