SSN Support Staff CPD Playground Games & Active60

Close Sorry, we are no longer taking bookings for this event

Event description

Wednesday 28th September, arrive from 8.55 for 9.15 prompt start - 11.20 at Our Lady's Catholic College (rear entrance).

For any support staff from our SSN schools.  From 1-8 places per school (please let us know numbers expected)

Training in basic playground games and activities that can be led or overseen by your lunchtime/support staff to try and ensure that your pupils have as many high quality opportunities to be active as possible during your school day.  We will also cover why this is so important including the Chief Medical Officers '60 minute' guidance that all schools should be striving to for, the positive impact activity has on attainment, behvaiour and relationships, and of course your own healthy school!

Support staff, in the past, have really enjoyed the opportunity to attend this training, and schools have then got more people involved in their PE/Health delivery.

Attendees do not need to be 'sporty' and we are looking at demonstrating very simple ways that they can facilitate activity, often with support from other pupils.

Please can everyone wear trainers, appropriate clothing and bring a drink. There will be mild activity, if some wish to simply observe we will accomodate that.

Parking is at the rear of Our Lady's off Lune Street, next door to Skerton Liberal Club.  There is very limited parking in the rear car park but then there is ample 2-4 hours parking all along the road.  Please car share where possible.

Please enter at the rear of the school directly into the sportshall.  Please pass on Steven's mobile number to call should they get stuck- 07966488617.

We look forward to seeing you!
