Congratulations to Bolton le Sands who won the Heysham District High 5 School Games Qualifier hosted at Bay Leadership Academy. An amazing 17 teams were competing from 13 different local shools, thats around 150 participants all trying to qualify for the Lancashire School Games event in July.
The teams were split into 2 groups, meaning every school got at least 7 matches each. The games were umpired by the Bay Leadership Academy Sports Leaders Team, who did an amazing job. The standard was very high, and all schools competed fantastically well. Thank you to the following schools, who all got involved:
Great to see North Road and Arkholme competing, and doing well. These are more rural schools in our area, they were awesome. My hope is more rural schools take their lead and compete in School Games competitions, these events are for everyone.
Special mention to St Peters who managed to get to the final and win Silver medals, and to Slyne with Hest and Westgate contesting the Bronze medal match, with Westgate winning that match.
It was an awesome Bolton le Sands netball team who took the gold, beating a very good St Peters team in the final. Bolton le Sands will now represent Team Heysham at the Massive Lancashire School Games Event on July 2nd 2019 in Blackpool.
