SLYNE WITH HEST: DISTRICT FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to Slyne with Hest St Lukes Primary School who managed to win the Lancaster and Heysham Primary District Football competition and thus qualify for the Lancashire FA's Danone Cup as Heysham representatives.

Well done also to Grosvenor Park who managed to reach the final and will also qualify for the Danone Cup as the Lancaster representatives.

The event itself was hosted at Lancaster & Morecambe College, where we also utilised their brilliant sports students who ran the event and refereed the matches, special thanks to them.  We had 26 teams from 23 different schools competing.  All schools were in a group stage, all playing the other teams in their groups.  The top teams from each group qualified for the quater finals, these matches were very close with 3 out of 4 matches decided by a Golden Goal.

In the end Torrisholme were victorious over Dallas Road to win Bronze medals and Slyne with Hest managed to win agains Grosvenor Park in the final to win Gold medals and Grosvenor Park winning Silver medals.

Thanks to all the schools who took part, your participants were fantastic.
