BLA SSCO PROGRAMME

Welcome to the Bay Leadership Academy (BLA) SSCO Programme page.  This is an intimate PE programme, which is in its ninth year. There are 12 schools enrolled on the programme, including:

• Bolton le Sands
• Mossgate
• Morecambe Road
• Grosvenor Park
• Slyne with Hest
• Overton St Helens
• Westgate
• West End
• Great Wood

This bespoke programme is funded by the schools involved, meaning the whole content is also tailored to these schools, chosen via a questionnaire at the start of the year.  It compliments the School Games Programme and the larger, School Sport Network (SSN).  The programme is centered around several PE & Sport items, including: Coaching; Events and CPD.

COACHING: Schools have access to 10 sports coaching sessions, availaible in numerous sports, and all age groups.

EVENTS: Schools have chosen 14 additional sports events.  A mix of competitive and non-competitive events, in all age groups and differing sports.  From Year 1/2 Multi-Skills/Athletics to Year 5/6 Pop Lacrosse, and new to this year - Swimming Gala and a Duathlon. INTRA COMPETITION: Each has a Intra Competition in whatever sport they want for which ever pupis they want.

CPD: Choice of 2/3 CPD opportunities.  These are to highlight new PE sports or initiatives, which include resources.
