Event description

This event is now full- Apologies!

Please indicate the number of pupils you're bringing along if booking.

We would like to invite your school to a Lancaster & Heysham SSN

Year 5/6 This Girl Can Festival!

University of Cumbria Sports Complex- Astroturf & Sportshall,

on 22nd March 1.00-2.45.

We just want to show girls that they can have fun being active!

Schools should try to select a targeted group of pupils from years 5/6. We just want any group of girls as you see fit.  Perhaps consider pupils who do not often get chance to represent their school or are less able/active than most.  Please also consider that, sometimes, these girls would be more likely to enjoy an activity like this if they had their friends with them so you have flexibility in who you decide to bring along.  The University’s 1st Year Sports Coaching & PE Students are going to prepare a series of challenges for your pupils to complete and enjoy- they will need to move around and work effectively as a team!

Summary:

Teams: Groups of 4-20, year 5/6 girls only.

Please specify approx. numbers on booking.

Max of 80 pupils, first come first served.

Activities will cover fun games relating to skills that will transfer across the majority of sports that girls may then wish to try and include Gymnastics with a qualified coach, Multiskills/Sport, Invasion Games, and Striking and fielding.

The deadline entry date is 16th March  Primary schools please enter via the website – www.lhssn.co.uk – Any problems just let us know.  I look forward to hearing from you.
