Dear Teacher,
We are holding an LHSSN Leadership and Teamwork session for pupils in year 4,5,6. It is an opportunity for pupils to work on both leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving and resilience type games.
Monday March 11th; 12.30-2.30 at The University of Cumbria Sports Complex.
Schools may bring 4-10 pupils. These may be your current, or prospective, sports leaders, or a different group of pupils that you simply think would benefit from this type of activity. They will move around a series of stations with other schools and have a go at each area. Please ensure you let us know how many pupils, approximately, you plan on bringing so we can allocate groups. Groups will be a maximum of 24.
Stations would be:
1) Sportshall- Barry - Problem Solving and Communication Games.
2) Sportshall 2 and Reception- Break & Discussion Area- please note you may be on this first/last. We will try to get rotations out prior (if schools can please book on early).
3) Astro 1- Scott 'Delivering Simple Playground Games and Activities & Being a Good Leader'
4) Astro 2- Wes - Leadership Games- 'Managing and Coaching Football in the play ground'
5) Astro 3- Greg/Dan- ‘Working as a Team’
Hopefully all these are useful 'skills' for any prospective leader!
Schools should bring their own first aid kits and ensure pupils are wearing appropriate clothing and trainers. Some of the sessions will be outside and it may well be raining!

Minibuses can drop off at the sports centre entrance. Parking on campus for minibuses or coaches needs to be made in advance via [email protected] & Adrienne Waldie: [email protected]. There is other parking on Wyresdale Road and at Williamson Park.
