We envisage it being:
Thursdays 18th, 25th April & 2nd May. Reserve date for any wet sessions 9th May.
No session, unless we've been very unlucky with the weather, on 16th May (Sats) or 23rd May (SSN Festival).
Final sessions 6th June.
In either one full league or a series of mini leagues and a final 'Champions League' section to decide our winners!
These dates and exact format will depend on entries!
We are excited to invite you to a brand new SSN element – Primary Sports Leagues. We are delivering various leagues, throughout this year, the latest of which is a year 5/6 High 5 –Now known as ‘Bee Stingers’ Netball League. Although we will be attending numerous Thursday evenings, depending on entry numbers, we envisage schools will only be attending 2-3 sessions between April and May (or June)!
We would like to invite your school to enter the LHSSN NETBALL LEAGUE. This league will be played at Lancaster & Morecambe College sports halls or on the college Netball courts outside, on Thursday evenings between 4-5.15pm. It will act as qualifier for the Lancashire Games which are delivered exclusively for schools within SSN memberships.
Once we have collated entries, we will organise fixtures, where a number of schools will attend per evening and play each other once. This is a mixed, 5 a side competition following the usual high fives rules and regulations. Playing positions may be decided by the schools and the high fives rotation format will be applied to that evenings fixtures.
Competition details are as follows:
● No spectators as per LMC policy.
● The event will be delivered through the Tournify App – so everyone can keep up with live scores and tables.
● Teams of 5, squads of 7-9 per night from year 5/6.
● Max of 2 boys, no minimum, on court at any time (see squad rotation sheets).
● Date: Thursday evenings, starting 18th April, the finishing date will be dependent upon the number of entries with a plan to complete by the May half term, or just after half term.
● If adverse weather determines, it may be necessary to overspill into early June to complete the fixtures.
● Venue: LM College Sports hall/MUGA
● Arrival from 3.45pm with first matches scheduled for 4.00pm
● Drop off and pick up from LMC events is off Torrisholme Road at the rear of College.
● Finish time will be 5.15pm. Exact timings and format will be sent out to the competing schools straight after the deadline date.
● 1 Team permitted per school, you may request a second, but they’ll only be allowed if there is space & will be first come-first served. When enrolling add your second team then I will confirm if you have it on deadline entry day.
● Schools should bring their own 1st Aid kits
● Schools should provide their own set of netball bibs
● Please can staff/parents park at the back of College off Torrisholme Road and walk your teams around to the MUGA adjacent to Morecambe Road.
The deadline entry date for this tournament is 23rd March. We will aim to confirm entries and groups from 24th March. Enter via the website – www.lhssn.co.uk –This event can be found on the events website and is for SSN schools only. Any problems just let us know.
