ST PETERS ARE THE MIXED DISTRICT CHAMPS!!
On Thursday 12th October 20 teams from Lancaster, Heysham and Surrounding areas arrived at Lancaster and Morecambe College to take part in the Danone Football Qualifier to represent the area in the county event.
The standard of football is getting better year on year and this year was by far the most competitive the LHSSN has had in recent years, with quarter final places being hard to come by and by the finest of margins.
Those places were taken by Grosvenor Park, Moorside Blue, Slyne with Hest Blue, Lancaster Road, Bowerham, BLS, St Wilfrid’s and St Peter’s.
Quality quarter finals led to BLS and St Peter’s competing to represent Heysham and Bowerham and St Wilfrid’s competing to represent Lancaster.
Two sensational semi- finals led to our County representatives being discovered in St Wilfrid’s (Lancaster) and St Peter’s (Heysham).
Finally there was the small matter of the District final. A fantastic, ferocious, fiery final was played between the two sides which could of gone either way however someone has to win and the 2023 District Champs were… St Peter’s!!!
A big well done to all the schools competing, a big thank you to the teachers that brought the children and a big thank you to Lancaster and Morecambe College for the facilities and leaders.
