Congratulations to Bolton le Sands who managed to win the 2018/2019 Bay Leadership Academy SSCO Quicksticks Hockey Tournament. After a very closely played final against St Peters, with a draw at full time and nothing to split between them, it took an extra time, Golden Goal to bring BLS the trophy. St Peters had a brilliant event and managed to secure the Silver medals.
Slyne with Hest, who brought 25+ students to the event (4 teams) played the 3rd/4th (Bronze Medal) match again the other Bolton le Sands team. Not even a Golden Goal could separate these two teams, so both went out deserved Bronze medal winners.
Well done to the following schools, who also competed at the event and made it so good:
15 teams from 8 different schools competed on the day, and all performed excellently, showing not only some fantastic hockey skills but also great attitudes, providing the event with an awesome, positive athmosphere.
Special mention to the St Peters student who won the BLA SSCO Programme STAR Award for this event. This is awared to the individual competitor who shows leadership qualities and is selected from all the competitors by the BLA Sports Leaders. In this instance, the student expressed fair play and always encouraged her team mates, never gave up and respected the officials and the opposition.
