BLS = BLA SSCO Y3/4 FOOTBALL CHAMPS

Congratulations to Bolton le Sands who managed to fend of 11 other BLA SSCO Programme schools to be 2023 Y3/4 Football Champions.

The event was held under the lights at Bay Leadership Academy, also utilising their fantastic Sports Leaders, who delivered another successful event.  We had 12 amazing teams involved including:

BLS/Slyne with Hest/Overton/West End/Westgate/Trumacar/Lancaster Road/St Peters and Grosvenor Park

Thanks for making it such a cracking tournament, players skills, attitude and application were awesome.

The 12 teams were split into 2 groups of 6, all playing each other in a league.  The top two teams in each group qualified for the knockout rounds. Westgate Wanderers and Overton Hotspur qualified from Group A, with BLS Dynamos and Trumacar Town from Group B.

Both semi finals were close matches, with winners BLS and Trumacar coming out 1-0 winners.  Overton then played Westgate in the Bronze medal (3rd/4th playoff) match, with Westgate winning 4-2.

BLS managed to win the final against Trumacar to be crowned champions.  

Special mention for the Mossgate pupil who won the BLA Star Award, for displaying outstanding Leadership qualities during the tournament.
